I debuted this scanner at ESG in Las Vegas last weekend. It uses a heavy-duty turntable, a Kinect sensor, and Skanect software to build a 3D model of whatever's on the turntable. My goal was to make scans of fursuiters available to them for whatever purposes they had. They can be sent out to 3D printer services or used as a 3D model for online services that allow them. Note: I will not be uploading the 3D models for everyone to download. Those that receive the models are free to do what they want with them including making them available to others.

A scan takes about 2-3 minutes, and generates ~60MB of data. At ESG, about 40 suiters got scanned.

Nothing here is rocket science; others have built similar systems for scanning people and making models.

Hoping to bring this to a few more cons, and am trying to figure out how to get this to some local events.

Had a ton of fun getting folks scanned, and appreciate all their patience as I worked out the bugs in the system and software.
