A citizen of Central America, the Turquoise-Browed Motmot lives in open scrubland and forest edges, sometimes appearing near human environments. Both male and females are equally colourful, but use their beauty for different functions.
They are the national bird of El Salvador and Nicaragua, and is known as the ‘clock bird’ in the Yucatán due to it’s habit of waging its tail like a pendulum.
