Where do I begin with this picture? Fascination with a group called ‘the bowery boys’ perhaps, or rather one particularly member who was recorded as being overly big and brawny. Not a terribly little friendly ‘gang’ but made for a good comic storyline in a compilation of various legendary gangs of varying eras. I can’t remember the title of the damn books but it was a really good read, part of a collection that focused primarily upon differing subject matters, such as aliens, unbelievable stories, and even saints, drawn by many different and acclaimed comic book artists. So taken up by ‘Mose’ I got inspired to draw this overly gritty lug, and nearly two years later I finally get around to completing him!
My Second image to be inked via a tablet (the first didn’t turn out as pleasing to me) and colored using pretty much the same means! A LOT of experimenting with the brushes went into doing this guy, and I found it hard to tear myself away from it given for the first time in awhile, it was actually fun to do! Overwhelming pleased with this image I am happy to say for once, I don’t really feel I could’ve done much better…least not until the next picture, anyway.
