sure i do. what i don't understand is why so often you turn people from other worlds into humans wearing fur suits, or make it look like you do.
the people of every world are a minority among the people of every other world, and humans are just the new kids on the block.
your story lines seem to be based on some other presumption which i find hard to fallow. (or swallow?)
but then a universe at war isn't very logical either. (perhaps i'm misseeing or missreading or something?)
your drawings capture true alien ness, and then, i don't understand why you then so often insist on shattering that.
i know you've pointed out its the star wars movies with all their illogic, including the extreme improbability of a human dominated empire, that inspires you.
i guess its just me. i love the 'wars' and 'trek' universes both for their eye candy. but not for the illogic of their human centricism.
this is why i read REAL science fiction when i can.
i would love to see more people drop the human centricism completely and depict a universe as it far more probably is.
carol cherreh in her chenure series did a reasonably good job of just that. other examples exist, though sadly,
even among what i consider real sf, they tend to be something of a minority.
in the courting the mainstream pseudo-science fiction of the corporate entertainment industry, they are too often not even imagined.
space: boring, empty, takes for ever to cross, and all you see are these little lights off in the distance that are really suns with strange worlds orbiting around them.
but the technology it takes to get you there is endlessly fascinating, and those worlds circling those little dots of light, once you get to one of them, who knows what wonders of strangeness you might meet once you get there.
might as well travel between them as a corpsicle or teleport. unless that is, light actually turns out to be no more of a barrier then the speed of sound turned out to be.
i'm rather fond of the latter, even if the best of today's science calls it a fantasy. and yes, i can see how that would be possible without violating what is today believed being how things appear.
you can never APPEAR to be traveling faster then light, because light doesn't travel faster then it does. and you will appear to be thus where you would have been if you weren't, and your mass would appear to be infinite. all to an outside observer that is. in reality you would be long gone from where the limitations of light made you appear to be, and none of the accumulation of mass would be experienced at all, beyond mass of acceleration, which would be avoided by simply not accelerating that rapidly.
ok, so my fantasy about how to get there, is just as much of one as anyone elses, and reality is frequently not that intuitive. but the likely relation of the people of each world to the endless diversity of appearance of the people of other worlds, is far more likely then a universe in which variations in appearnce between the sapients of different world would be relatively minor as the are in both 'wars' and 'trek'.

to refute a few of these.
1) the universe isn't actually at war in the story. that might be your first problem with following it, though i will admit that it's a tangled mess of small details that i expect people to remember. so i'm not shocked that you have trouble keeping it all straight.
2) there is no human dominated empire in this story. like, at all. the rulerists we've actually seen in the comic have been numerous races, including half-bloods, hekshanians and andoians in addition to humans. it's not a ruling empire though, and never was in the comic.
3) i think it's completely normal to imagine all the strange and unique ways one might accelerate beyond the speed of light. however, i'm not really a 'hard scifi' kind of guy, and for all the illogic of space operas, i still love them and want to make one of them. so i'm sorry that it's not 'hard scifi' enough for some tastes, but i never wanted it to be in the first place.
i'm really not getting where you take 'human dominated' from, though. of the cast members (both major and minor) only four humans have had a significant impact on the way the story shakes down. compare this to the seven alien major players, one human-halfblood major player and three humanoid GMO major players. even if you want to believe the GMOs are humans, it's split right down the middle.

that still probably came out more critical sounding then i meant it. i'm often not so good at the social aspects of how to say things. you HAVE created a real diversity of wonderful sapient species. just as i believe people from different worlds would be.
space isn't an answer to not recognizing the connectedness of all things on any one world. but that doesn't make it a reason not to head that way either.
whether or not THIS world ever gets there, beyond our own solar system, is up to our learning how to not destroy ourselves first.
and there is always the chance, that should humanity destroy itself completely, given a few million or hundred million years, some other species might evolve sapience to take its place. then a true furry universe, with not so sadly, no naked ape humans at all. just people just as smart and creative, but fuzzier and all different.
