In the Ruins of the Fallen Empire
The place had once been a monument of grandeur, you could still tell. A symphony of towers, people, markets, palaces, and marble. But those towers were fallen now, their columns chipped and cracked--how many hundreds of years ago? No one could remember the name of this dusty kingdom anymore. All it stood for now was the impermanence of majesty.
But it was still a good place to hide. And to stalk.
Gotcha. Inorog saw his bounty holed up in one of the caved-in ruins. You've lead me on a merry chase all the way out here, but now it's time to face the music.
Since the target hadn't spotted him yet, the muscular unicorn decided to climb one of those broken columns and utilize the element of surprise. The chain which hung nearby, somehow still shining free of rust despite being exposed for so long, proved perfect for the task. He swung down on it hard, his burly form blocking out the sun, crashing through the remnants of glass and window which his prey cowered behind.
With an entrance like that, his axe proved unnecessary, as the bounty readily gave himself up after getting over his initial shock. That wasn't unusual. Inorog's very appearance was intimidating enough without needing to show off his formidable weapon skills. He soon had the target trussed up and marching sourly in front of him, heading back to the border.
Got to admit . . . that was pretty damn cool. He allowed himself a brief smirk, before pushing their pace. With the coin he'd earn from this job he'd be able to afford a room at the inn with a bath. The better to get all this sand out of my tail . . .
An awesome shot of Inorog caught mid-assignment, by the ever astounding
