ARATA INFO

Creatures born in the depth of the oceans. They develop inside of a bubble, and once they are ready to come out, the bubble goes up to the surface and pops. The Arata creatures swim to the shore, not aware of what to do, however insticts take place and they soon become amphibious.

However, Aratas are mainly sea creatures taking on the appearance similar to that of a koi fish, but unlike koi, Aratas can be rather deadly. Their tail is their main weapon, for if an Arata catches a prey's limb inside one of the holes on its tail, its twists and tightens, rolling its tail until the limb is completely severed from whatever was unlucky enough to get caught.

Aratas' Jewels depicts what personality that they have, although it does not happen until their teens. It is then that they have fully developed a personality. There are 10 different color jewels in which the Arata can obtain. Once the Arata has finally gotten their jewel, a tiny grey flame starts to appear over their elf-like ears. The color of the flame identifies its aura that appears when the Arata becomes a full adult.

When an Arata is threatened they will retreat, turning into a beautiful Koi and going into the deepest part of a body of water. They are able to change into Kois at any time they wish, making them free, agile creatures.

When mating, the Arata's jewel and flame glow with radiance, letting potential mates know that they have come of age, and are ready to start a family, if wanted of course.
