I've been working on this off and on for the past couple of days. There's a matching body shot for this that will form a reference sheet for the character. The lineart and flats are done on that one, and it only needs some color.
Speaking of lineart, this was digitally inked with Paint Tool SAI. I tried this program over the weekend and good lord does it make really creamy lines. I tend to get frustrated easily with digital pen tools because I expect them to work like a real pen. Most don't, but this one does. I never ink anything digitally because it's usually easier for me to use traditional pen and paper for the same results, minus the frustration. This pen works really well. It's a great program. I'm a little on the fence about buying it, considering it's from a Japanese development group, meaning I will get virtually no support if something goes wrong with it. I'll see how I feel when the trial runs out.

I am installing right now , as for it being a trial version I noticed it scans your computer to see if you have used it before , you may be able to trick the program if you delete it from your C drives core files before reinstalling , sometimes that works sometimes it doesnt , and deleting harddrive core files can be tricky work.
I'm looking at her facial expression, and I can't help but get this feeling that she's pissed off about something. Her jaw just has this, uh... set? to it that gives the sensation that she's clenching, gritting teeth, and her eyes seem narrower than usual (to me, at least), which usually is a warning that someone is angry (to me, at least).
Getting past the facial expression, and looking at the hair, all I can say about that is "shinyyyyyy~!" like the dweeb I am. :)

Hmm, yeah, I see what you mean about the facial expression. When I was working on it, I never thought of it as being an angry expression, but I can see how you can pull that out. Her eyes are pretty narrow, but they're always been like that. I don't think you're looking too deeply; rather, you're giving it your own meaning. :3
