I'll say it right out. I suck at chess. Always have, probably always will. That kind of strategic thinking is not in my bag of tricks. There's too many moving parts with too many abilities and my brain's not wired to think that far ahead in a game.

Checkers, on the other hand, I excel at. I can read that board and anticipate the enemy's movements, placing my own men where they need to be to take advantage of them. Long campaign, no. Single battlefield? Yes. Even when I'm a cub, I do well at checkers, even if it's harder to stay focused and those disks can be a little fiddly in my clumsy paws. One of my favorite pastimes.
