I wanted to draw a wee title on the left, but had no motivation.
This is a few months old, but I wanted to post it someplace.

I've always found it funny that we use Narcissism to mean "vain and very aware of themselves, no matter how unsexy they really are..."
wheras the mythological Narcissus (the guy who falls in love with his own reflection) is the opposite. He's too stupid to be vain, he doesn't even know what the hell he looks like, and yet he's sexy enough to fall in love with a picture of the sexy beast he's seeing. "Narcissist" should really be the term for dumb sexy guys, but I'm personally glad we have a term for narcissism, because it's such a powerful concept.

I Agree fully, but what I find really funny is when some one doesn't know what narcissism means when they are the pitcher perfect example.
And you talking about Narcissus, reminds me of a old story of a wolf that becomes angry at his reflection, because it can swim. Sorry just random memory.

(blushes) Oh, that's so sweet! I'd love to see it! Don't worry, though, I can imagine it after thinking about it for a second. Took me a bit to figure out how the story would work.
There's a Victor Pelevin short story called "The Tarzan Swing," in "A Werewolf Problem in Central Russia" (the title story of which may have turned me furry), where a businessman or whatever has a conversation with his reflection in the store windows as he slowly goes off the deep end. Really really great.

(Hugs - Dyslexia runs in my family, I've a cousin and grandmother with it, and I sorta know your pain. I'm cool with letters, but I can barely read musical notation, the lines jump around.)
It's not big enough to have an audiobook, but it's a good book! A short story like that shouldn't take too long compared to a novel to muddle your way through. (The other two great stories in that collection, if you decide you want more, are the title story (whose title explains all you need to know, a guy gets recruited by a werewolf pack), and "Sleep," a teenager who learns how to sleepwalk through his life.)
