Be warned: Going 1/18 is an expensive hobby. For example, I paid $100 for my 1929 Cord L-29. The scale-model of this thing: http://silodrome.com/wp-content/upl.....up%C3%A9-3.jpg
The detailing, esp. on the interior and in the engine bay, can become absurd in its high quality and delicacy. Real wood pieces in the interior trim; upholstered seats with the real car's original fabric; full, multi-piece reproduction of the dashboard and shift levers. My 1957 Chrysler 300C not only has a fully detailed engine and hand-assembled engine, the hood hinges are perfect scale replicas of the spring-loaded, accordion types used on the real car. And on the dashboard, the keys dangle from the ignition switch. Yeah, you can get lots of El Cheapo units at places like Costco and Sam's during the Christmas season, but some studios that make these things can really put their effort into it.
My SLR McLaren is a Maisto, which is a good enough bargain brand. The engine bay is just a plastic stamp of the topside details, however. My silver-over-red SLS AMG is also a Maisto, and is currently featured at my Battle Station Play Area.

Correct! The V8 Vantage had the standard Aston Martin trademark hood vents. The V12 Vantage's hood replaced those two little vents for a set of Four. Two long (or large), and Two short vents set towards the front of the car.
