Built as a college-age android by General Mechanics, Miriam was employed as a secretary throughout the 1950s. But, as history has shown, styles change. And after the end of the decade, Miriam was retired.
Now, retirement is not all bad when you're an android built by the largest robotics manufacturer in the United States. At least, not for Miriam.
She (and everything she's wearing) is made of plastic. In fact, she's entirely plastic, sans her internal components. And so is the house she was given (a prototype for the World's Fair built by General Mechanics). Since her retirement, she's been living by herself, hosting parties (with plenty of food and liquor, all generously supplied by General Mechanics. After all, image is everything) and trying to meet the boy of her dreams... And when you're an ageless automaton, you have plenty of time to spare.
As of late, she had been growing lonely... until she met Mattias.
