I actually heard rumors that Epic Games (makers of the Unreal Franchise, Gears of War and Tyrian) were the ones going to be in charge of the next Metroid game.

Epic games also made the Unreal Engine, their latest being Unreal Engine 4. Unreal Engine 4 is capable of making almost photorealistic games (even by today's standards), while at the same time being extremely easy to make games for. UE4 can also run on Nintendo's Wii U, which is awesome.

Holy... that's amazing, hopefully Epic Games can pull it off. :3

Me too. And if Epic are the ones doing it, that means it is the perfect excuse to have music from Unreal as well. Imagine running from Space Pirates, in the dark, with Nightvision playing (I'll email you an MP3 conversion of it later)... Jumping from rock platform to rock platform on a Volcanic planet with Shared Dig playing (ditto), or beating the shit out of Ridley whilst listening to Go Down (same as with Nightvision and Shared Dig.)
