Haven't posted anything in a bit but felt like doing so, so... SUFFER the wrath of older drawings I randomly feel like putting up!

This is Naya. Of all the various characters I've come up with for stories or roleplays, she's probably seen the most depth and development of any of them.

Naya had a very harsh childhood with her mother Eteryssia mysteriously disappearing and her father Gailyn going insane on the same day. When she finally ran away from her abusive home during a winter storm, she stumbled upon the ruins of an ancient city of extinct mage dragons. Through a series of strange events she inherited all the magical power of the extinct race, taking it into her body. The magic power is the source of the runes that decorate her back, and they glow green when she is using her magic. That much power combined with her tormented upbringing to drive her slightly insane for some time and give her a rather lopsided view of the world, in which only 'weak' and 'strong' mattered. She used her great and terrible power to torment and cause harm to innocent creatures that she met during her travels, solely for her own amusement and pleasure and out of a deeper desire to simply feel strong and not helpless ever again. This lasted for several years, until finally something happened to her that made her realize how wrong she'd been and helped her emerge from her power-madness; she fell in love. But that's a long story. In short, while Naya may seem like a frightening and powerful villain at first glance, the final themes in her story that really matter are ones of redemption and salvation, and the ability to recover from horrible terrors when guided by love.
