This is -WAY- out of my zone.
I -rarely- create more than one piece a day but.. damn, the drive hit me and i couldn't resist.
I knew I -had- to do something. So I did.
AND HERE IT IS.
In a world where monsters are considered as much of a threat as the average human being, the war for monster rights rages on in the political arena.
"Monsters must be allowed to read! Would you deny a human from the collective knowledge that is the library?" one would say.
But perhaps it is for the best, after all, some types of monsters eat books. Especially books with a smell of antiquity.. books with stories so powerful it would move a rock to tears.
Time taken - 6 hours
NOW I SLEEP.
I am open for commissions!

Most interesting indeed. Not often I actually see yourself do creature work. As of late you have been working more within the realm of character work and it has been quite an interesting leap for yourself coming from the grounds of Designs, patterns and even crest/emblem work. An interesting tid bit of short story to accompany it though it does rouse some questions.
A question on my part would be why the color yellow had been chosen as the main center of focus. Not that there is indeed anything wrong with yellow. It is interesting to see this small assembly of color you have on this monster however and it makes me curious if there had been any purpose or meaning behind it or if like myself, the eye likes what it likes!

I love that you ask such interesting questions!
To tell the truth, this creature was originally designed green! The idea was that swamp-monsters were not to be allowed into the library because they were... well, swamp monsters. The three spots on both cheeks were actually "flower-colors" in the original green shade but after putting on these effects, I realized that green wouldn't mesh too well with the terribly dark background, so after messing around with more of the colors I finally settled on yellow as an in-between color, neither was it too -hot- nor was it too -dull-.
I wish I could say I had a brilliant inspiration and thus this was born, but alas, tis' but a simple case of "it looks better"
