Is it a PLC? It looks like it powers some big machinery based on the capacitors on the right. At my dad's puzzle factory we use PLCs on most of our machines and some pretty big motors to make them run. I think our biggest is about 3' in diameter and runs one of the presses.

This is actually a dc control module and those "capacitors" are actually voltage amp and rpm meters. ^^ this is a part of a 5 piece set to control the mud pumps, draw works motor, and a few other miscellaneous motors around an oil rig. all this does is regulate the voltage going to the scr's that fire the motor pulses. mud pump motors are huge though, lol. maybe 2 foot by 3 foot motor can? I'm currently wiring a plc panel though, so you'll see one of those soon enough!
