I was looking at pixel art from some games and I wanted to try some thing similar. I had this idea to make a brush that makes that checkered board pattern, but I would fill in when I don't want it to so I made a pattern but its not really what I want to do, and I don't really wanna put in each pixel one by one.

I'm using GIMP, and I know there are people out there smarter then me so if any one has any ideas on how to do the effect im going for let me know
