And Nicole's master plan and Nasty Plot comes to a head. She wasn't surprised to find that Stunner ran his team like a well-oiled machine, trained to obey his commands. In fact, she was counting on it. As what could hurt worse than seeing your secret love cut down than the knowledge that you're the one responsible for it? Besides the Mega Kick to the back of the skull, of course...

No, can't say I did expect anything less... and of course now Eddie has a perfect example to point to when anyone asks him why he has no ambition to try to get a match with them.
Gotta wonder what the repercussions from this are going to be... I'm pretty sure the administration wasn't expecting such an extreme dismantling when they okayed this match (and they're probably going to want to cover their own asses too), and Tenebra did just attack a faculty member.

Or were they? Like I said, Felinduce arranged the match, and he always has a reason for his actions. Standing up for what you believe is right is easy when there are no consequences, but doing the right thing even in the face of such ruthlessness is a true measure of courage and character.
And back in my high school I saw more than one teacher or other faculty member get decked when trying to break up a fight. She wasn't going after Mr. Rocco as much as she was trying to get away, and he just happened to be standing in the wrong place. Wouldn't worry about him, he's got a hard head.

Possibly though during my senior year of high school there was a fight about every other day and a good number of teachers, coaches, or other staff caught a stray fist, elbow, or headbutt while breaking them up (this was in the days then they were allowed to do so). Never once resulted in anything more than detention or suspension though.
Ultimately Rocco would insist on "Fergittaboutit", which he would do for anyone. Grizzled ex-pro like him doesn't mind taking the occasional hit now and then (and has, LOTS of his patients are less than happy to be there). Though worry not, I do have a follow-up in the works that addresses everything and ultimately ties into recent events.

Sammy: GOD do I just want to sock that bitch in the face...
Grace: Which one?
Sammy: Nicole. I gouldn't give less of a damn about Tenebra and Mel.
Haze: I couldn't give less of a damn about any of them. The growlithe is insane, Blackclaw is a bitch, Tenebra is a murderous psycho, and Methelza makes me ashamed to be a ghost.
Jake: How so on that last one?
Haze: She walks around looking like a slut and is basically a slave in the ghost realm. I extremely dislike her...

Wow...that's mad genius. Evil, cruel, but genius all the same.
Playing on Charmanda like that....poor girl. *Gives her a hug*
Tenebra's all mad....hate to be in nurse's office (or wherever) when she reappears. And Mitzi does look a little lost in the third panel.
How many more comics are left in this fight?

Sheesh, am I the only one who's rooting for Team Jet here? I'm not a fan of the heartwarming stories where the much weaker group beats the much stronger group through the power of friendship!1! Call me a hopeless cynic, but.
Anyways, great work X) Love the thought that evidently went into this, I love Methelza's attitude especially (Might have to do fanart of her! Once I finish the art of MY Misdreavus-morph :P), and the art's great (your hands could use a little work, but it's nothing big.)

You know, the gothed-out ghost did kind of steal the show, I've come to like her more as the despicable villain than I did when all this started. And I know some of the hands look sloppy, it's never been my strong suit, and though I did intend to go back and redo them, when all was said and done I was like enough is enough, just print it.
Is the plot for this series collaborated in advance between you and ebonyleopard, or is each page posted as an independent response?
One thing I saw posted at least once around here (perhaps I say this erroneously, but I'm pretty sure I saw -someone- say it) was that Zeni may evolve during this particular match. Also, there seems to be a lot of effort placed into making Team Jet look as malicious as possible, when in reality all of those girls (except Mitzi, I don't really know enough about her background, and I notice she seems to be out of the loop, here) have apparently suffered significant psychological damage. One of them is born as a permanent slave to a powerful and (probably) evil Ghost overlord, another one was basically being constantly neglected, abused, and god-knows-what until ~2 years ago, and the third is so insecure about herself that even the idea of having a sibling to compete with her father's attention drives her personality and her mental stability past breaking point (welcome to Stunner's world, honey o_o). I feel pretty sorry for them as they are currently written.
At this point, the anticlimax of actually seeing Team Jet win would nonetheless be a pretty disappointing resolution, even though -statistically- that conclusion is so staggeringly favored I'm not liking how the PCA's battle regulations in the storyline even allowed this match to take place to begin with (they have 4x the number of moves available, and presumably a large number of levels on Team Red to boot...how many levels are gained per grade, on average, anyway? Starting average level for freshmen? Also, do we have a rundown of how many HP each battler has left?).

Very observant on all counts. No, nothing is planned in advance. I know there was talk of having Zeni evolve, but it wasn't going to be during the battle as far as I know. But after hearing about Tamar's intentions I kind of intentionally gave her a hard time so that she would have proper motivation to do so in the future. And yes, in order to paint them as the ruthless, vile villains that they are, they have to.... be ruthless and vile. The resolution ended up HOW they would win.
As for why the match was arranged? Well, it was made by Felinduce himself. And the mewtwo always has reasons for his actions. Mewtwo was also always portrated as something of a cold-hearted bastard, so maybe the lesson he's trying to teach, while a painful one, is one that he deemed necessary in order to ensure his students grow strong, in the long term...

Ali'imalu: That damn bitch of a meowth.... I would like see who the best at a one on one with her.. mon like that make me sick... she can...
Azami: Damn that girl needs to get a rearrangemant to the face and beaten that she never forgets...
De'shi: The whole team Jet are lowlife expections to Mitiz, need to find other thing to do then torment team red and try to rule to school with an iron fist...
Eun Kyung: I didn't belive a mon can be so cruel and heartless... if was in a team verus with her team give them a piece my fists to rethink about thier goal right now...
then we have the vote carried to beat the shit out of team Jet...., if red team fail to do so.
All: Aye
Motion carried...

So, this regeneration...it's part of her sage? What in the world does wisdom have to do with the ability to regenerate?
Anyway, whatever this is, it seems like it could be fun, especially if I get to work together with you on Ignacious's big climax battle with her in my storyline. That horn of his can do a lot of damage, and he may be just a freshman, but his attack level is equivalent to that of a junior (and I didn't know at the time I created Team Darkfall that a team could automatically be accepted at higher grade levels, until I saw Rikmach's Team Safari ). So now, he was only holding back in the entrance exams so he wouldn't be left out of the rest of Team Darkfall by being two years ahead of the rest of them. But now that the team has been formed, he can show his true skills and be bumped up to the junior grade level.
But I digress, I really hope that I can someday collaborate with you on an epic battle between them.

Allison: "That bitch! What she did to Charmanda! If only I could choke her with her chains!"
Itoya: *growling and cracking knuckles* "I hear ya, Alle. Makes me wanna break my rule of no fighting long enough to teach little miss skeezekitty that her claws may be unbreakable but the rest of her ain't. See how Team Jet handles it when someone heaves a big rock into their fanblades..."

Damn.... no other word describes it quite as well.
Ella: *looks furious at this development then opens her mouth to say something*
Thomas: *cuts Ella off* Ella I swear if you so much as breath the phrase "I want to challenge them" I will have Nina tie you up and lock you in a closet.
Ella: *thinks it over then closes her mouth*

AHHHHHH...
So now we know what the buisness with the phone was (aside from erasing Nicole's tit-pics).
And man is Nicole a manipulative little bitch. Clever and very ruthless.
So is the fight over? If so it was one hell of an ending.
(Wonder how the resolution will be).
One more thing. Was that Felinduce who janked Tenebra away?

I've been paying attention to Nicole for a while now and I've got to wonder about something. Is the reason that she can't stand Tenebra the way that she does is because she really likes her and is afraid to get too close?
The thing that I've noticed about Nicole, and I'm may be wrong about this, is that although she is alot closer to her dad than her mom she has a lot more in common with her than she does her dad. She doesn't have the background that her dad does, growing up in affluence like her mom. The thing is, however, Tenebra does. Tenebra comes from almost the same exact background as Nicole's dad. When she came into the picture, Nicole may have just realized how much more she is like her mom than her dad. Although she loves her mom, her dad was there more and she really wants to prove herself to him. As a result of Tenebra's adoption into the family, her latent insecurities (as commonuser stated) manifested and she became really territorial, lashing out to anyone who she percieves as a threat and making sure everyone knows where they stand with her (and in effect, to make sure she knows where she stands with everyone).
Continuing from what I previously stated, Nicole may be afraid of getting too close with Tenebra because she'd be affirming what she'd always feared: that she wasn't good enough to be close to her father.
Again, this is just what I think about Nicole.

Again, astute observations, but not quite right. Nicole has a few issues, obviously. One is that she realizes her father literally crawled and clawed his way up from literally nothing in order to get the respect that he has now. There's no way she'll ever be able to do that, the spectre of affluence and nepotism will always be over her, no matter how much she may hate it. She's fought for and earned all of her achievements herself, but people still look at her like she just bought them or only got them because she was somehow entitled. And that pisses her off to no end. She is very legitimately an extremely skilled fighter and can accurately claim that she has trained harder and with more determination than anyone, but she feels that nobody gives her any credit just because she was born into a position more similar to that of her mother.
Her hate towards Tenebra is actually partly based on fear. Nicole knows some of the things the mightyena has done, and doesn't trust her. She's sincerely convinced that she's trying to use their father for money, power, or what have you and that Felix is too blinded by the pain of his own childhood to see it. There aren't very many people that Nicole cares about, but she's very protective of those who are on that list.
And to that extent, she has major issues with respect. By disrespecting her, people disrespect two people who are on that list - her father and her sensei. And she will lash out against them, very vindictively. Certainly her behavior isn't always rational, but keep in mind we're talking about a seventeen-year old girl under tremendous pressure. Irrational behavior is certainly going to be a part of the equation.

...
I'm sorry, but this has been bouncing around in my head for awhile now.
You where Nicole says "Gonna stay down now? I really hope you do."
Well...
You ever seen Family Guy? You know that gay guy, the mellow one with the shaggy hair and mustache?
Well, I just keep imagining him saying that for some reason.
