This was a college project. The teacher asked me to paint something baroque (because I suck at shading) and use the colors to represent the character and his feelings. I know this doesn’t look baroque, but I swear I did the best I could.
The character is Reesh, a purple half-dragon (deep dragon) ranger from D&D 3.5. And the tiger is his animal companion :3

Ooo, this one is nice, I love the cold calm feeling and fine shading. I honestly think you did good, the shadows are much more realistic and the volumes stand out also much more. The fact that it doesn't seem exactly baroque doesn't matter at all, I really like it.:D
I've got the same problem with my digital paintings - the longer I work on them, the less contrasting they are. Maybe making something entirely in grayscale could help a bit? There's no other way to distinguish objects expect from shading so I think it could be worth it to try, I never tried that though.:D

I did try to make it all grayscale first, but I had no idea what I was doing "8D
I have so much to learn yet... Maybe I should attend a painting class or something. Unfortunately there's no such thing on my graduation =/
Anyway... Thank you very much for your critique! <3

Hmm, same here - the more I learn the more I see how many things I don't know yet.:D - I've decided to take a 3 month online course, hopefully that will be worth something, I find it to be actually the easiest way how to force myself to paint what I'm not used to and do master studies etc. Good luck with finding a good painting class.:)
No problem, I'm glad when I can help.:) And thank you very much for the watch!
