I was at a friends house hanging out when his cat walked in. He came right over to me and laid down so I started petting him. After a while, I started looking at his facial pattern and decided he would make a good base for a Kalai. (For those of you who don't recall, or in case I didn't mention it, the first Kalai I made was Kerkero years ago. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8976577/ ) He's got a very laid back attitude so I wanted to capture that in the illustration as well. I figured he'd also be a good background character when I finally get around to writing more of that story.
