It usually ends in a big ball of fire above the city... but so far I've managed to land a helicopter on it (easiest one) a crop duster and i'm still trying to land a jet fighter on top of it. So far though I either lose a wing, explode or just roll off the other end and then crash because the engine stalls. XD

One day I'll make it though =p

They're kinda cool. Fun to watch.

Reminds me of the time they had a big race at Kansas Speedway a few years ago. One which I was unable to go and living 20 miles west I never once thought of this happening. As I am listening to the National Anthem being played I hear this deafening roar. I look outside just in time to see five F18's racing past ready to do a flyover. I go back inside to see them flyover just a minute later. And within two more minutes they are flying back past my house again. 50 round trip miles in less than 5 minutes. Enough to get you choked up if that kind of thing gets you choked up.

I bet the blimp was much quieter and obviously you had much more time to snap a picture. ;P

It's a lot slower, but noisier than you'd think. You can hear it buzzing from miles off. After a while you start to wonder what that strange noise is, look around and there it is way off in the distance still.

I was at an airshow in Texas once where the Blue Angels flew between the grandstands! Not above......between! UNFKNBLVBL!!! Thankfully I didn't blink. They were haulin' butt!

I saw the GY blimp once at an airshow. Man! That was a looooong time ago!

Yup! Used to be a cabover camper, but last year I decided to go for more room and comfort so got a little trailer. It's perfect for one! And now my truck is happier too!

I can remember seeing the Goodyear blimp from when I was a kid. I used to see Little Oscar and his Wienermobile in person sometimes too. If you know who and what they are...or I should say were.

The Wienermobile IIRC, made one appearance in Canada, then got impounded for being an "uncertified modified vehicle"

I had no idea there have been so many Wienermobiles and so recently! The one I remember seeing him in had a hatch on top he could pop out of to wave at you. We were very impressed!!

This isn't a hot air balloon if that's what you were thinking. It's a regular blimp. We see hot air balloons now and again where people pay to ride in them, but this is an advertising thing for Goodyear tires.
