Some Sketches ~
Just doodled these, made me think perhaps I should make this kind of sketch available as a commission, too, them taking me little time so I could make them real cheap, too. Thought I'd share x3

Well I've seen a lot of males with rings in their ears, and I wonder how the cheek fur makes so much difference... it's more the face, the eyes, eyebrows and lastly the built of a character that defines their gender. Males have generally thicker eyebrows, smaller eyes, a taller and broader built (cept this fellow is pretty slim).
I have seen that too. I've also seen males dressed as females, and vice versa. You're right, but that's harder to see as immediately as things which are admittedly more external.
As for the cheek fur, I don't know the reason for it, but in practice I have seen (and use myself) the convention with anthro animals of having males with cheek fur that hangs down, while females have upswept cheek fur. Perhaps people think the latter looks more feminine, more "groomed", I don't know, whereas hanging down is more realistic.

Please don't get me wrong, I very much like and appreciate your talent in drawing these characters--the one on the right just confuses me.
I guess it doesn't help (though this has nothing to do with you) that I almost favorited a picture of a beautiful hedgehog girl--until I found out that the artist meant for the hedgehog to be male, even though there was absolutely no way to tell this other than the artist's saying so.

Oh no - I'm not offended or anything in the least x3 I'm just sorta wondering how someone could tell male of female from looking at cheek fluff... I mean, sure, perhaps up looks more groomed, but in my opinion, foxes look more like foxes with the fluff up ~ but that's really just my style. Now I feel like drawing a clarification XD
But no worries, again, I am not offended or anything ~

Oh, good. I have Asperger's Syndrome, and so sometimes I forget to say something positive before getting into a criticism unless there is something that particularly stands out to me as positive. *shrugs* I drew foxes with the fluff down in my epic comic fantasy that I put on my userpage. Then again, I neglected to use black patches, so maybe it's hard to tell they are foxes, I don't know....
