Fun Fact:
The terms "Red Lantern" or "Red Light District" is a holdover from early railroad days. When a railroad crew would pull into town and head for the brothels they would leave their lanterns hanging outside of whatever house of ill repute they had chosen (the lanterns would be marked with their name) so that they could be easily found by page boys from the railroad yards when they were to be called out again for the next train.
