The third of the roommates appears at last.
Karen is Krista's longtime best friend, the two of them having met at a library while children. Their friendship has weathered the test of time, especially as they did not live nearby and attended different schools. They were fortunate enough to attend the same university, but only became roommates during second year as Krista chose to spend the first year in a dorm.
Karen is of First Nations descent, but (like her creator) is not well versed in aboriginal culture. Whether this will come up in anything I write has yet to be determined.

Native peoples seem to be under-represented in furry art and comics - and when they are it's always as some fictional tribal people. Assuming I ever make a full length story series or comic of my characters and ideas, Karen is going to be an urban native. Trying to figure out how to show her divided between two worlds without it sounding preachy or unrealistic.
