Gun geek side-note: aside from the unguarded front sight and fore-end, the Mk Is weren't set up to use charger clips (which is why there's no hump on the receiver above the rear of the box magazine) and were the last Commonwealth rifles issued with different barrel length variants for infantry (long) and cavalry (short).
