Well I normaly hate this, but I decided to put up some pictures... of ME!
Why, even though I hate me? Because my swords are there. Now before someone says "some swords? there's only one and no download zip folder!" Well I did do a rar file of them but couldn't be bothered. Instead heres a bunch to save time http://www.slide.com/r/38sFx9aD6j_e.....t_embedded_url So you can leave coments here or there. Please be aware the pictures are over a year old and VERY out of date. Please only the first few are decent quality. I used the Media lights and camera from college because I was also doing some filming projects and used them at the same time. Amazing how powerful those lights are, even the 'cold lights' get you sweating after a min (the Red/Hot lights get you sweating instantly) O_O

If I remember correctly, the original purpose of that sword was sort of for those on horseback in a battle. at least if they didn't want to dismount, anyways....well, Either that or it is the 'true' version of the Zanbattou from Ruroni kenshin that, the one guy who dresses in white wields..
So far as my research has yeilded, swords of this type were normaly used against those on horse back, as it would be used to cut the horse down and trap it's rider underneith.
Of course being on a horse also makes sense because you've got that fast movement and not trying to hold the weight sword.
Since this is a replicate and comes in two parts; I have no idea how much a real one would weigh in comprison.

The tassels do get in the way, infact trying to get that picture they were tickling me. As for unwieldly, this thing is for you. The length of the blade going infront, although it doesn't weigh much, that much mass infront made it hard to hold like this after a minute of trying to get the right pose for the picture.
Too bad this is essentialy a push-tang one. The blade screws into it, and the cork-screw like section is not very long (10-20cm? I haven't taken it apart in a long time. But the slide show has it seperated.
Although you can't see here, the tassels were tied into a Butterfly like design (thats how I got it), too bad a couple of them are coming loose :(

Lol, i love swds XD i only got four tho... T.=.T i have the... bokken same as yours, the black but w/o the cord wrapping, then i got a knights of columbis sword its kinda RETERTED because the freakin' thing is falling apart, you SUCK i rly want the naga- thingy STAFF! i was at a gunshow for six hours and all i got was the sword i'm about to describe XD but i was staring at the staff, it was liek 150 some freaking dollars T.=.T $$$, it looks awesome XD idk how to describe it, but the blade is steel, not stainless, so it aready has a bit of rust from playing with it XD ima clean it like right after i post this msg the blade has that zig-zag thing on its blade, not rly sharp but if i really swing it it will cut its pointy at the end XD and it has japanese letters at the lower part, or something idk where to describe it as so... its by the guard and everything such as the guard hilt, etc, has dragons on it XD and i have well, i have 5 swds but one is broken XD, i have TWO rosewood bokken's from Japan, they look SWEET but the first one had a knot in it so when i used it it went *SNAP!* lol, so it's mor eof a tanto-type thing... XD
Well I don't plan on fighting either. But owning a sword you need to care for on a regular basis can be much more satisfying than one you don't. The time I spend looking after my non-stainless steel swords is quite rewarding.
Although I wish I had a sword like that too :)
