"Welcome to my store! If you don't see something you like, just ask, I don't have everything on display. There's a bit of everything, but act fast! I can order things too, if you like. I can get you anything you want... anything you want."
Araalen's litter-sister followed the family calling of a merchant to a tee, but rather than specializing in any one particular thing, she decided to try and grab as many different things as possible to sell them. She only has one or two of any particular item, which she uses as a sales pitch to encourage people to Act Quickly and Buy Now! Sure, she has a lot of junk, but sooner or later SOMEONE is going to want a particular item. Most of her business she runs remotely, getting suppliers to ship things to deposit boxes or other places she can pick up merchandize easily, in addition to advertizing most of her wares online.
Emphasis on "most", as she has little to no ethical qualms about the things she sells. Oh, they're all legal, of course, and they comply with laws and regulations, but you have to wonder about the mental state of a woman who sells strong alcohol, narcotics or firearms alongside books, candies and clothing items.
Kaliila's attire is a reference to the normal appearance of the shopkeepers in the Fire Emblem series (who normally sell healing items and spells). They change a little each time, and she's most specifically referencing Aimee from the Tellius games.
Also like Aimee, she runs the Rarities Store, which only has 1 of each item, and changes in each chapter. This gives the player some interesting choices as they can't possibly buy every Rarity item in the game, but most of them are going to be quite useful. Some will just be helpful and others might only be good in certain situations, like mid-tier weapons if the player doesn't have any.
And for the non-combat sections she's certainly capable of procuring whatever else the player might add, giving her an extra dimension to her personality besides being a source of usable items. The player's personal spending money isn't tracked to encourage them to do whatever they like outside of battles. Want some clothing or jewelry? Decorations for your room? A collection of model ships or a space hamster? She can provide. Is this eccentricity, or business cunning? You decide!
Character belongs to me.
