Actually, the Robert Howard stories have Conan go through a bewildering series of outfits as he migrates through random violent careers. The only ones I remember in detail though are the mixed suit of armor-from-all-over that he wears as a pirate, and when he's a thief early on in his career -- Howard describes him as wearing the cheapest gray tunic that he could afford, which doesn't fit very well.
