The way he's floating is actually really accurate to how a floating guy would actually look. Nice bigness on the whale.

The whale shape is actually pretty solid; if you want to start improving I'd just work on making your lines nice and clean if you're able. Long, confident strokes will get rid of the small rough patches. What are you using to darken your lines?
