Another shot of waves crashing on the beach with very high saturation. The original picture was shot with 28mm lens & wide-angle attachment, shutter of 1/500 & F-11 for good mix of speed and focal depth.

Oh, the sorting floor! Yeah, that's a nifty bit of physics. The various sizes of stones are sorted by their weight by waves of different strengths; bigger waves can throw heavier stones further up where smalled waves can't pull them back down again, so that the stones are all sorted. The underlying bedrock must slope at just the perfect angle for it, though.
(Ever thought of doing a panorama of that beach to keep the various layers in focus? It'd be quite a trick!)
But I don't recall you taking a series of waves where they crest on the beach before. The contrast in textures, (as well as colours), between the waves and the stones... well, pebbles at that point... is just stunning! Chaotic water vs ordered rock, nifty! You are a very clever lion, sir. (So there, nyah!)

Well you've been there. That's the sorting floor, and the coves are the actual lapidary grinder, magnifying and focusing the energy of the waves.

The secret to getting clear focus through the picture is to have a high f-stop, a pinhole. I had tons of light for these shots so I was able to have both a fast shutter speed (1/500) and a relatively high f-stop. don't think stitching would work well here. Well, it could I guess. I'd use the zoom and have it steady on a tripod. I've done some very large panos lately, the largest running up to 30 megapixels (7,000x4,000). It's a fun trick to pull out of the bag in certain circumstances. I wish I would have done more large pictures like that of the ice fields.
