The fuck is this red doing here? Help?!
Other people who use Paint Tool SAI! I have a question!
When doing my highlights, I use a luminosity layer, but whatever colour I’m using will randomly change to another colour. Like, I can be highlighting with a soft yellow, but it will suddenly change into a vibrant or dark red out of nowhere. If I make a new luminosity layer, though, and continue colouring in the same spot, it might not do it again, but sometimes it does.

I've known that certain brushes, if starting the stroke on another color, will blend the current color with the one you're drawing on. To avoid it, either start your line on the outside of the lines, or use the binary tool and then use the blur too to smoothen the sharp color lines!
No, it's just a low opacity version of the default round brush. It's not set to pull anything from other layers and will happen independently from anything going on on the other layers. Like, I could be doing it over any colour, any amount of shading or other highlighting...anything. I'll randomly get a rainbow in my highlights that isn't supposed to be there.
hectic xD i feel for you man, y'ouch, im a musician and comic writer/character designer , so i dont have to worry haha-
so he says, one of his friends had that problem, and it was with the opacity on a tool that had a setting that made it render colors and so forth. He also said it depends if you're on pc or tablet, check history color buttons for tablet and for pc, make sure your D or X button aren't faulty.
dont know if it will help you buddy, sounds like a bug to me xD

Well, this is a problem I had on my previous computer as well, and the one I'm using now is brand new, so I don't think this is a problem with my keyboard. o.o I also had this problem when I was using the Monoprice Cintiq-style tablet.
So...I guess I'll just have to fiddle with the brush I'm using, then? If not that, then...possibly find another program to use for my art? But I like SAI! 8C

aaww man :/ nnuuu, leave SAi as a last resort xD i think mess around with shadding and setting of layers, but mostly the brush you're using, but my friend said its most probably opacity related :/ i will ask my other artist friends tomorrow ^^, see if they know anything, they're sleeping now though xD damn South African time zone xD
Wish you the best of luck buddy :/ hope it gets sorted out, sorry i couldn't help
