How I shade fur in Paint Tool SAI.
1) Start with a darker color than you want your piece to be.
2) Shade the darkest part with a darker color.
3) Take an even lighter color than your first step and make a highlight.
4) Then, take your original color that is lighter than the rest and color the middle of the highlight you did in Step 3.
