Waiting (to weed out the weaklings)
A picture I've been meaning to do for a while. Not completely happy with it-- I wasn't able to find a good high-res still from the movie to work from, but I did the best I could with what I had. Picture will mean nothing to people unfamiliar with the movie or album, but hopefully those who are will get a kick out of it.
I remember reading that the director of the film got actual British skinheads to play the part of the fascist thugs, Not the smartest thing to do in retrospect-- he had skinheads from different gangs that kept fighting with each other, and they were 'way too, um... enthusiastic... during the raping and pillaging scenes.

yeah, i've heard the same thing about the skinheads. during hte huge crowd scene apparently it got really really out of hand, which is why you see some people like enthusiasticly seig-heiling. they're not acting, they're getting swept up in living out some fucked up neo-nazi regime rebirth fantasy. brrr.
This is possibly true, Boneheads never come up with ideas of their own. First these fools copied the original Skinheads (who were and still are no racist bunch of idiots) in the 80´s. Now they are actually turning the things again, many Neo-Nazis these days dress similar to people from the Antifa, calling themselves autonomous nationalists.

I have always loved your character Jack Salem, and for some reason whenever I've listened to the second half of The Wall he's always come to mind! I think it's because you drew him in an SS uniform once? That must have gotten stuck in my memory and connected up with whenever I hear Waters bellowing about spotty potheads.
Love that album (my friend and I have analysed it to death!), love the movie, and as you can imagine, I love this. The costume fits him perfectly, too!
Also, amused at the ferret in shades. He looks pretty cool about the whole thing.

So does he sound like Roger Waters or Bob Geldof? I remember you once imagined his voice sounding like Jack Nicholson or Clint Eastwood, but I imagined Jack's voice sounding like Kurtwood Smith, based on his performance in Robocop.
