From what I am reading, it looks like a lot of folks (Me included) weren't in this pic.

Pssst...I think it would be a bit unfair to ask someone to draw everyone he knows, for free. Remember, this is an artist who NEEDS to do artwork in order to pay for bills, food and so on. It's great if he does gift art with you in it, but there's only so much time he can dedicate to a project that will make no money for him, and it would be completely unfair to ask him to spend so much time on that when he needs to be earning a living instead. Besides, it's not really a gift if you have to ask for it, is it?

Kit did this for folks who were watching his art stream, if you weren't watching the art stream then you just weren't lucky.
He did this for free, no one got payed, and folks in the stream started calling out names as they didn't want others to feel left out.
He just ran out of room, he made the image as big as his computer would allow, and he still ran out of room.
I was there, he said as much, he also said he wished he could of put everyone into this, but he just couldn't.
The point is, I don't think of myself as popular, want to know why ?

I thought the Fandom was above such pettyness, I guess I was wrong about that.
This attitude is why I still won't draw anything here for anyone, I keep thinking of drawing art here, but I don't.
Because someone will feel left out, I could draw for like 12 hours a day & yet someone would say "Hey, why wasn't I drawn ?"

Is this what the fandom means to folks now, who gets the most art, who goes to the most cons, who goes to the most events ?
If that's the case, Perhaps I should leave it, because I can't be part of a Fandom that is that shallow in thinking.

What's the point of popularity anyway? I think it's more like a hissy fit over not getting free artwork. But look at all the hundreds of people Kit knows who are not making a big deal over it. Life is more than being/not being in a picture. Do you know why popular people get exposure? Because they are popular, that is the very definition of being popular. You are taking cause and effect and turning them on their head.

The main point still stands: this was an entirely free, unpaid piece of art that he spent 4 hours of his life on. 4 hours that could have been spent making money, and instead he decided to do something nice for some friends. He wanted to include so many people, but you can't expect someone to draw 50 characters for free when he's already busy as it is, can you? But instead of saying "Hey, that's a nice thing you did, shows how nice you are", people have to say "Oh, I'm so miserable because you didn't include ME in that piece of art that nobody is paying you to do and you chose to draw just because you wanted to be nice". If your absence from a picture on the internet that only a few hundred people will ever see bothers you so much, I suggest you put your priorities in order and apologize to Kit.

Look at it from the artist's perspective: he decides to surprise people with a gift. He works hard on this gift. He is proud of the gift. He posts the gift and now people just complain that they aren't in the gift. How would you feel if all the hard work and good intent that went into the gift is completely ignored and people just look out for themselves? I imagine it would not feel very nice at all. I'm not in that picture, I've known Kit for a while, but you don't see me complaining. Do you know why that is? Friendship. I'm a good enough friend that I don't need to be showered with gifts in order to know that we are friends.

Note: I'm using a general 'you' not a personal 'you', so it can be applied to anyone in general and not only the specific person I'm addressing.
