Oh dear...Harlan Ellison has written a ton of stories that seem to not be being read anymore....his most famous work is one that was seriously mangled by Gene Rodenberry to become 'City on the Edge of Forever' (Star Trek Original Series)

He's a canterkerous old man (typed with respect) who also believes that no one is entitled to their opinion, but _are_ entitled to their informed opinion.

Most of his work is in the general fiction category, but has some in SF, and his essays on, well, just about anything are both enlightening, frustrating, and amusing.

Mind you, I'm not american, we don't have many titles written in english down here
