My half of an art trade with Brightfire on Weasyl. Brightfire's character sheet mentions that she likes feralform Brightfire doing things because a goat doing human things is just funny.
Realizing I had a whole fancy sort of dining table setup in this piece with candles, I decided to play around with backgrounds and lighting sources and what-have-you. I had learned from CloveAppleArt how to do transparency brushes for shading and from my own experiences in how to use the addition layer for lighting accents. It was a quick addition but I like how it turned out.

Thanks! I think I still have a lot to learn as far as light and shadow goes.
As for furniture, I just realized I had to take the same approach to it that I do to character art. Starting with rough shapes and then sketch layers and a bunch of photo refs. That said, this table has like 4 different kinds of legs because I wasn't that careful with the refs.
