I photographed this vehicle because it is one of only three surviving coaches built by the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway before 1900. This six-wheeler was built by the S&D at Highbridge in 1886 and is the oldest of the survivors. It resides at Washford, home of the Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust. Washford is also one of the stations served by the West Somerset Railway.
