Ilfracombe 1964? No! It's Minehead in 2014! The WSR's Spring Steam Gala has a theme every year. This year's theme is the Atlantic Coast Express, a service British Railways' Southern Region operated until 1964. Historically, the ACE (Atlantic Coast Express) would start its journey at Waterloo, in London, and would divide at Exeter St. Davids to continue to Ilfracombe, Bude, and Padstow. Sadly, the Bude, Padstow, and Ilfracombe lines closed many years ago but the Exeter - Barnstaple line is still open.
