There is glamor and glory in the flashy life of a superhero, and that is what people like to focus on. But that is only what clothes the profession. Underneath what everyone else sees, it is terribly, terribly grueling; often psychologically and physically demanding to your very breaking point. I spent a large portion of my youth trying to get into the mindset of what it would be like to walk down that road, in the shoes of a superhero in a world as real as the one we know.

I came away with the sense that it would destroy most people.
