Breaking Up an Oil Slick
We had a big problem earlier today with an oil slick in the harbour, calling for several agencies to work together....Sydney Ports, NSW Maritime and NatParks. So what does Sydney Ports do? they bring in one of their Firefighting Tugs to help out, here is the "Ted Noffs" helping to break up the slick. At the time of this photo, the other Sydney Ports vessels and the other agencies vessels were around at Little Manly helping break up the slick too

No Idea as to what it is and where it came from just yet, the Environmental Protection Agency is doing testing on it. As for how they controlled it, it seems as though they chose to try and dissipate it due to the size of it, but had methods ready if a different cleanup style was needed.
Mainly Seabirds are most vulnerable to the slicks, I was put on alert to watch for any Penguins that may have been affected by it
