Not quite Flash Fiction.

I had not planned on writing anything today or even this month but this story developed in my head within about a minute this morning when I decided to write a little description of an illustration that the super talented
Bluari is going to do for me.
As I started writing, I thought "hey, this is perfect for some Flash Fiction!" But sadly, as I got toward the end, I realized that would not be the cast and that I would in fact go beyond the 1000 word limit of the genre by about 50%. Oh well!
This is a first draft but not too rough.
Critique and comments welcome!

That was a hastily written piece, inspired by a commission being done for me. First draft and I'll go back and clean it up soon. :)
