... will never be released, not by 20th Century fox or any other studio. Yet here he is.
It has been ages since I drew Jaqard duSang. I decided to change the writing to Dusang, yet this is just an experiment and not coactive; there was no orthography in the 18th century anyhow.
Currently, I try to change my style; I want to be a tad more cartoony, to have a wider range of expressions at hand, yet keep my detail and historical accuracy. I would be happy if you could express your opinion about that - does it work?
The stairs are photographed in Saint-Malo and belong to the maison Magon, a museum dedicated to Magon de la Lande, local shipowner - mogul.
This pose is dedicated to the great Patrice Pellerin, France's and Europe's leading maritime artist and comic book author, and his character Jean Kermeur.

I love the subtle blend of anthro and realistic. I think it works VERY well here. Neither steps on top of the other or treads into the uncanny valley. The eyes sell it, that look is so intense. "I'll plunder everything you've got, your heart more than anything, and you'll love me for it."
The smallsword is part of Jaqard's more formal clothing he wears to important or official events, like the meeting of the Brethrenhood of the Coast or at one governor's residence, or for serious and pre-claimed duels. Though he can fence quite marvelously, or to be more precise, far better then most normal trained can do, that is not his normal blade of choice.
For boardings and normal battles, he prefers the Indian talwar or the Mamluck scimitar. Mostly, two blades at once.
