Another Tux story. I snuck in a few ideas about what his life is like and how he deals with things. It's pretty short, really, but this kind of scene is difficult for me. When I'm describing two people talking who are the same gender, I have to make sure I don't keep using the same descriptors for each line of dialogue.
I didn't really plan for it to end the way it did. I guess I wanted Tux to be happy. I'm very uncertain where it should go from here.

Thanks, Ms. V! I guess I've been doing that, but when I look at where I think he's going in the far future and try to figure out how he gets there it seems like such a rocky road. I'll probably have to look for the brighter moments of his life or I'll depress everyone.
And thank you for the favs! Much appreciated!

Yeah, like Vixyy said :) The unfortunate thing about actually getting a sibling is the fact that by the time the baby is old enough to be a companion, the older child is too old by then and is more a caregiver than a companion. Consider if Tux is 7 years old in the story, by the time the baby is old enough to be able to play with a 7 year old, the 7 year old is approaching their teens. Imagine a 12 year old interacting with a 5 year old. By the time the baby is 12, Tux would be finishing high school. My sister had her two daughters within a year of each other just so they could be companions while growing up, yet that year still made a difference.
