Because I'm lazy as all get out I'm just gonna stick to the Fridays in Lent. Plus work schedule is bleh.

Anyway, day 4. It dawned on me I've never drawn Salonga in her own picture yet.

The other day I had a serious craving for xiaolongbao. Xiaolongbao are these tasty little dumplings I found served in my region of China. They are typically very thin dumpling wrappers filled with pork, shrimp or veggies, with a tablespoon of boiling hot soup inside. Then the whole lot is steamed in a bamboo steamer, which they are then served in. You eat them typically by biting a piece out of the dumpling, sucking out the soup, then putting the whole thing in your mouth (yes, while it's still hot).

I could get 12 of these things in a steamer for 7 RMB - a little over $1.25 here. Add a coke for 3 RMB - 50 cents - and I had a cheap yet satisfying lunch.

Now if only I could find someplace local that served xiaolongbao....
