My first attempt at making a Pokemon digimon clone
To say I was not influenced by Digimon and Pokémon would be a bold face lie. I WAS GREATLY INFLUENCED BY THEM!!! S much so, I started to make my own Species. At first I came up with Tochis, which were miniature creaturs with great powers. Bascially Chibi monters with big head. Yeah, I went there. After that I came up with Ulticreats(Ultimate Creatures)/ I was like 14 at time, so sue me. That was a horrible idea anyway, basically since I copied a lot of them directly off of pokemon. Then Came Digimon, and my whole perspective of monster design changed. I went so far as coming up with a new species called . berace your selves................
MEGAMON!!
Yes, It sounds exactly like the blue bombers American name. At the time I did care, but later on I realized the name not to mention I was riping off straight from Digimon. All I was missing was a type of Digivice, and Iw as really close to making it too. I had even went so far as to make a comic, but never finished it, and sadly I have lost the pages of it. Sad, with some rewriting and not copying straight from digimon, I thought it was coming out pretty good, but then again, I was about 15 or 16 at the time. Well, if anything some of these character designs had later help develop my more current characters. I might as well tell you these 5 Mega mon(Ugh, I still can't believe I did that.) Excluding the kid, because I honestly forgot his name. I think it as Mason. Not sure.
Left to Right:
Haunt Hound
A ghost dog that basically the voice of reason of the group.
This character actually helped to develop regular canine characters.
Breezer
The only female and sadly was not too bright. I really did not have and real female character development at this time. This was before I really discovered female super heroes being equal to male ones. Sorry ladies. However she did help to create stronger female characters like Sonkei, Harriet Flow, and even Nyx.
Blue Wolf
A borderline rip off of Weregarurumon, only more buff. I did not care, it was a big blue wolf(And sadly, that was the only name I could come up with). He was the leader of the group and his color palate and muscle design helped to create Papawolf and Big Bad moon 7. ALso he had a super evolved form that was named Big Azure, and was also fat in that form as well.
Gremodon
Though I did not admit it at the time, I was heavily in love with big bellied monsters. Gremodon was the strong silent type, but also the team Glutton. Big Surprise. He also had lead to the fat chaters designs of Fatmoon, Gurume, and even Large, though he was no where near in development at the time. ALso Gremodon had a Megamon secretly living inside of him. I uess he also lead to a love of Mpreg as well. GO figure.
Ignate
Though you can barely see him, this chrater was based off of Flamedramon. I may have hated season 2 of Digimon, but some of those new digimon I could not help but love. Especially if they were voiced by Steve Blum. His character was the smartass. His character lead to creation of smartass guys like Blackmoon, Carcoon, and even Sweet. Eventually, I wised up and started creating my own original characters from Scratch. And I still had a love for making a multiple species type thing, and in the end, I came up with Feastbeast.
Well, if I ever find the contents of this comic, which I HIGHLY DOUBT, I will post it up for you ll to see. Who knows, I may even finish it. Nah.
