Dog bites Joe

Joe shouts in surprise and kicks at the dog that just bit him. The dog runs off with a laughing bark, and Joe scratches his head. "What was that all about?!"
Just then, he feels constricting pain in his feet, like someone was squeezing them in a big hand. He looks down and watches as the front of his shoes burst apart, revealing dog paws.
"Hold on!" Joe says.

Usually, the most interesting transformations, constantly change focus. I'd say the next part would be to for a feature on his face to grow. It'll make the action move and be more interesting.

Muzzle and ears and nose grow in. thus marking him as not human, and giving him increased smell and hearing. which might also be a curse.
