This little guy was in my dream last night. For those who don't know me,
My dreams can be extremely vivid, telling stories sometimes.
This one was quite different.
I don't remember exactly where I was, but I'm assuming a forest of some sort.
I came across this bird that was perched on a branch, until I saw it had cat ears.
It turned it's face towards me, and after seeing the anatomy, I knew it was a gryphon.
This doesn't even begin to describe the colors that radiated off his plumage.
They were just breath taking, he really was a beautiful creature to behold.
I soon found out that his species was a dying breed. Close to extinction.
And then, I saw that he, too, was dying. He was calm, accepting death.
It was really sad to be honest, but he had no fear.
After his passing, another one came to greet me.
She was not as vibrant, but had yellow coloring.
I figured she was his mate since she came right to the scene.
She was happy, though. She didn't carry any sorrow.
I try not to really dig into dreams, considering they're mainly just a sum up
Of memories packed and twirled into senseless thoughts,
But this was really something I wish I could project onto a screen for everyone to see.

It sounds like a very powerful dream, and a really bittersweet one as well. Like you, I tend not ascribe too much meaning to dreams, but that doesn't mean they can be really compelling and I think you're really lucky to have dreams that are that vivid, and to be able to recall all the details so well.
The gryphon himself is really pretty, too. I love his coloring, and his overall design. But for the touches of purple and green, he looks rather like a bluejay to me, and he has a nice sense of power and serenity. Based on what you described, it sounds like you captured his likeness pretty well, or at least as well as anyone might be able to capture a dream creature. Thanks for sharing him with us.
