Silence surrounded him. It always calmed him and welcomed him into its embrace, yet he always knew that the silence would lead to allowing the Demon to show. His eyes tightened. Don't cry. Hold it in. This is what he kept telling himself. His paws tightened against the ground as his tail stiffened. The young hybrid was doing his best to not let his emotions get the better of him. Yet, he was finding it harder and harder to do so.
Crack
His ears swiveled and eyes opened, letting a few tears escape from them. he shuddered slightly as it was apparent that He was here again. With ears pinned back, Tayun looked to the beast before him .
Bright yellow irises pierced his very soul, sending a quick wave of fear through him. The huge alpha, gave a sinister smirk, showcasing only a few of his sharpened fangs. This fellow, this specter of shadows, this malevolent spirit was none other than his great grandfather.
He had only heard stories of him from his mother and disdainfully from his father. And sadly here recently, he had been getting many a visit from the old wolf. But why here? Why now? It was bad enough to have his mother and father see him in his downtrodden state, but for a canine who was a cold hearted killer and very much masculine to see the pathetic state that he was in was an even worse fate.
Inhaling shakily, Tayun looked away,"W...what are you doing here?? Why do you always appear when bad stuff happens?" he questioned his great grandfather, to which no reply was given. Instead, he felt the ever growing deadly presence grow even closer to him. His fur rose slightly as the scent of death was now saturating the air. A soft, cruel chuckle came from behind him. He could feel the older male's gaze upon him.
" To think, a descendent of mine would hold such weakness.... such is what happens when you mix the bloodlines of course." the voice, deep and thick with an accent spoke in a nearly wistful tone. He didn't know how to reply to that. He of course had heard of how Zayer had disapproved the mix of dog and wolf, but he had a feeling that he was implying something else.
" But... then again ... it's not All your fault. Quite a shame really. A father should always treat the oldest son with more respect. " the older male continued as he began to walk so that he was standing shoulder to shoulder with Tayun.
Tayun blinked at his words. " What do you mean? Father respects me plenty enough... he loves me and gives me directive to take care of the family." Giving him such responsibility had to show that he had a place within his father's heart.... right?
Zayer hid his grin," Yes... he gives you mere orders to keep you busy...whilst he gives more attention to your other siblings. Do you not question why he looks at you in that peculiar way... like as if you are different from the rest of your littermates?" Tayun turned quickly and stared at him, mouth open yet no sound came out as he was thinking it all over. His words struck a chord, as he had planned. As such, he continued, " You say that cares for you and yet here you are. I can sense the darkness within your heart child. It is the darkness within your very soul. He knows that you are IMPURE."
Tayun couldn't believe his ears. Part of him screamed at him to turn away and flee back to the comfort of the summer den where the rest of his family was, and yet for some reason, what his great grandfather had to say enticed his curiosity. What if it was true? What if his father saw him as different? If so, then it would make much more sense, but even then, it still hurt him. His lip trembled slightly as he thought it over and over.
" Besides, dear lad, did you really think that he would ever let someone like you take his place in the grand scheme of things? He knows of your failures." The young wolf stood up at that, horrified at that. " B...but what of Zeind?! He too has failed at times and then some." his defense came out as but a mere whimpering squeak.
" He knows that your brother has far more potential than you could ever hope for.' Zayer interjected calmly."It's only natural that he would wish for the strongest son and most obediant... the most pure to take his place." He continued on, and as he did so, a sly grin formed upon his lips," And as for you? Your father sees you as nothing but a FAILURE. Sad indeed, my dear boy.'
Tayun stared out at the forest surrounding them, not really paying attention to the detail of the real world as his mind was now but a whirlwind of moments and words jumbled up together. His head hung low as his teeth grit. " I'm not a failure..." he whimpered.
" Hmm... what was that?? I do not comprehend doespeak." the old wolf commented.
" I am not a failure!" Tayun cried out as he glared at him, his golden eyes glowing brightly as he glared at him. Zayer couldn't help but chuckle at them," hmm.... then prove it, son of failure. Come with me and we shall see if there is hope for you yet." He turned from him and began to head off into the shadows of the forest.
Tayun watched silently. He could feel his heart beating. There was so much confusion, so much hurt and questioning within his heart. For a split second he glanced back towards the direction of the den, but as quickly as he did so, he turned back to look forward. Without a moment's hesitation he dashed off after the malignant being that was his grandfather, and vanished into the coppice.
Another bit of a practice with pen pressure, though please excuse the shoddy background haha....
But here we have little Tayun within a moment of uncertainty and confusion about who he is, what he wants to do with himself and questioning his placement within his family. Of course great grandpappy Zayer has to come along and ruin everything :D
i might do a sequel picture to this sometime later... who knows really XD I just really liked the idea of Zayer and Tayun getting along.... sorta. eue
