There is a previous, much simpler version of this drawing. It only showsa breached spceship and some generic books floating away. I redid this much more detailed version a bit later, as a commission. Saara is collecting up a lot of first editions of books I thought important at the time. Visible are Larry Niven's first novle, World of Ptaavs. Also in free float are Fritz Leiber's The Silver Eggheads, Tom Wolfe's Rhe Right Stuff, Clifford Simak's The Goblin Reservation, Steven King's The Shining, Gene Wolfe's Peach, and an Ace double. I think that's a Heinlein backcover at the bottom. There's a copy of 2001 A Space Oddesey, Dune, and the others are unrecognizable even in my largest file (which this isn't). No doubt I could identify the rest from the original. If I drew 'em, I can probably read 'em. Bakka, the name on the spaceship is also the name of the local SF bookstore.
As an odd footnote, I had recorded what I was paid for this commision. $15. I was grumpy and depressed for a couple of days after. Nothing could speak more elogquently of the difficulties I've had all my life to make ends meet. At that rate, 48 hours of work a week would never have amounted to anything like the poverty-line let alone a middle-class lifestyle.

ARGH! What a perfect example of how underpaid artists are. This is the reason I HAD to say something a few months ago in one of the communities when someone bounced in with some scrappy doodles wanting to do badge commissions for $35 a pop. Of course furry drama being what it is in three days I had mutated into a vicious baby-pinching troll who (why are these things always 180'd?) didn't believe artists should be paid for their work.
Meanwhile, if it's a wolf dick or has tits on it, it'll sell. My bud
akirashima does wicked stuff. Just last month to prove a point he posted a really shitty drawing of a 3-some, 70 faves in a matter of days, way more than for any of his other drawings. As for me, I've yet to sell a single print here. So let me get this straight... any combination of furry humping is worth more than this???

Ye gods, I believe it. The power of "name" is twisted. This came up in a thread recently and I was told that Picasso upon hearing that people were buying anything just because it had his name on it, threw buckets of paint all over these canvases and then ran a car or something over em... signed em, sold em, and then mocked the hell out of the buyers. A great story and if it's true is further proof that he was a minor deity.
