This was an ambitious little thing that never expanded past this sketch. I was playing my bass along with They Might Be Giant's "The Guitar" and had the bright idea of doing a triptych based on the refrains riffing on "The Lion Sleeps Tonight".

The first, is obvious.

The second ("Hush my darling, be still my darling, the Lion's on the phone") was going to be the Lion calling in a ransom demand on the ship's radio while the bound captain glowered in the background.

The third ("In the spaceship, the silver spaceship, the Lion waves goodbye") was going to be a composition based on "The Raft of the Medusa" with the crew shaking their fists at their departing spaceship.

So, this is it. I like the sketch but, not sure if I'll get to the rest
