I've driven 4 of those... Someone in my family loves them, so they keep getting new ones.

Still love it..especially in the ice! The 4X4 works great :-D That person in your family must be disappointment in the fact they haven't made new ones in a decade

He's got two of them now, I thought they were newer than that though. the most recent one looks brand new though :P He keeps it in the garage

My mother had a red one, and my stepfather's had three, all some sort of silver. The first two must have been 1998s or 1999s or so... My brother had one that was a 2000 maybe? that my stepfather sold him when he was done with it.

My dad had on back in the day, something in the late 1980s? (1988 maybe? Not sure) I remember riding in that from Chicago to Dallas...

I will be going to see my stepfather tonight, I'll double check the years on those...

But yeah, they are great cars. I drove one from Denver to Chicago in about 2001/2002...

When my Subaru or my Jeep weren't working, I'd drive their troopers :P

Oh well, Subaru was sold at 225 K miles, and the Jeep with over 280K... I drive small cars now, less gas expense, and I don't need 4x4 living in the city.

Yep, the last one (silver) is a 2002. The first two (one silver for him, one red for mother) were 1999s. The 1999 silver one was sold to my brother, who smashed it up a few years later. He still has mom's although doesn't drive it much.

And so much for looking brand new... He hit a deer last month and took out the bumper and grille on the silver one... so he was able to repair the bumper a bit, but had to buy a new grille piece, so it's a red color now...

I guess I thought he'd gotten the third one after I'd graduated college the first time, but that's not the case.

Just curious, how many miles on yours?

Probably over 160,000 at this point

*nods* they are good for it though. He's got 120 K on one, 130K on the other. I would have thought they'd have more, but it seems he's been flying more instead of driving back and forth to Chicago and California.
